Cultural Resources Training

This classroom portion of the Cultural Resource training series is designed to give the students a sound background in recognizing the full range of regional/state cultural resources and a full understanding of NRCS State operating procedures and documentation requirements.

For NRCS "Credit" the course must be taken live and the AgLearn and Field portions must be completed. However, to increase your knowledge of Cultural Resource requirements, please watch the videos below.

  • The Prototype Programmatic Agreement (PPA) - Jenifer Coleson, NRCS

  • Breakout Session for NRCS employees - Grant Smith, NRCS, Sarah DuBois, NRCS, and Bobby Burken, NRCS - Review of State Instruction, Sharepoint Site: location of documents, forms, tracker, What do planners need to provide? (CRRW, Oral History, Maps), How to make required maps?, Putting the project packet together (CRiSP), and What can planners expect next?

  • Breakout Session for CD Employees Part 1 - Jean Fike, WSCC - CD Cultural Resources Review Process/Policies, Website Guidance

  • Breakout Session for CD employees Part 2 - Kim Lancaster, Cascadia CD - Defining the APE and putting the project packet together (EZ-1 Form), Things Districts should do and not do concerning Cultural Resources, and Effects Determination/National Register Criteria
